SURFBOARDS & DREAMS - A SOLO EXHIBITION BY DAMION FULLER
Damion Fuller is a ceramic artist and surfer based on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia. A passionate amateur surf historian and collector of vintage surfboards, his work is a celebration of the golden era of surfing in the early 1970s
His solo show at the Deus gallery Canggu is called 'Surfboards & Dreams' and features illustrations on vases and platters that celebrate this more simple and exciting time in surf culture. For example when pioneering surfers had the escape to the tree tops to avoid tigers roaming on the beach after they discovered Gragagan on Java in 1972.
All the works were created in Ubud, Bali as can be seen reflected in the colours and tones of the clay and decoration and include a selection of unique soda fired pieces.
